Youth Group

Beth Shalom now has its own Youth Group, aimed at young people from age 12 upwards and run in conjunction with RSY Netzer, the Reform youth movement run by young people for young people.

The Beth Shalom group was the initiative of a member and mother of teenagers, concerned that there was nothing socially for her own children to do which would connect them to other Jewish kids and enlarge their sense of Jewish identity.

The link with RSY Netzer is of huge benefit. Netzer brings Jewish teenagers together, emphasizing the importance of helping others, fostering an understanding of Israel and contributing to the wider community. The groups are all run by 17-23 year olds, giving teenagers a great role model from leaders they can relate to. Much more about RSY Netzer can be found on their website.

The Beth Shalom group will be led by Alma and Nicci, two Netzer 'Bogrim' who are students at Cambridge University.

Activities, will include taking part in the RSY-Netzer Purim Spiel in London in February and baking cakes for a charity cake stall to be held at the Cheder, in aid of the Haiti relief fund and a charity supporting asylum seekers in Israel.

The group will also be open to all teens from 12 upwards, including those in their Bar/Bat mitzvah year.

A great programme is planned - for more details, see the Calendar and, for further information, please contact Danielle at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

There are also RSY Netzer camps available for 10-18 year olds and Israel tours.
